need help identifying in tennessee
    #4543212 - 08/16/05 05:24 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

I have found a large patch of 4 to 5 inch that are brown mottled tops, white fine gills, and brown stalks. Look like a cubensis but all the pictures I have seen show solid tan. These are brown they are in a pile of wood chips and dirt patch is about 2 feet with several patches close by. Would anybody know, they came up Sunday morning and have been spreading on the mound.

A picture would be helpful, but they are not cubensis if they grew on a pile of wood chips. They grow mostly on dung of a grain-feeding animal.
