Liverty Caps in United Kingdom
    #4542145 - 08/16/05 01:49 PM (11 years, 6 months ago)

Its getting close to the time of the year that they'l start popping up - those good old liberty caps!! I've never been on a mushroom site before but decided to register after the mass anticipation I've been feeling.

Firstly - has anyone seen any YET? i know its august, but early september I have come across a few....

Secondly - last year was absolutely, quite literally DIABOLICAL in the yield of mushrooms I got. I say this, because, 2 years ago I got kilos upon kilos, upon binbags (yes, plural) of fresh mushrooms..... However...! last year, I was lucky if I could half fill my plastic bag from the exact same field, and they were all concentrated highly on 1 10m x 10metre patch (half kilometre square field... maybe more)

Is this due to everyone having a bad season (in the UK, central scotland) or is it due to some other reason? there really was about 1% or 2% of 2 years ago findings

Whats the weather going to bring this year?

good or bad harvest!

cheers for any response

Try searching the forum. Some guy from the UK mentioned he'd found liberty caps in July(!?!) this year.
Psilocybe Semilanceata is fairly ubiquitous, but, if you are going to hunt for it in August, you better try at higher altitudes.

strl is the reverse lrts
