just got back from a 2 hour hunt with nothing more then 2 dried up cubes and one tiny fresh one (everyother time i come back with at least 50 caps, a few days ago my friend found about a half punbd wet, very lovely specimens too) a buddy of mine told me he saw the farmer riding his tractor around the other day spraying shit on the fields. might i add that this is a very well known field and ignorant non-apprecaitive assholes like to litter on it. could the farmer be spray some kind of fungicide or something to gert rid of the shrooms? is there even such a thing?

IMO those two statements explain why you didn't find any. Either it hasn't been wet enough or the field was picked already. I know around Georgia (my home), the rain lately has consisted of hit-or-miss, pop-up showers. If your weather is like that, then just because your house got drenched doesn't mean the field got drenched. Small shrooms and dried up shrooms could be symptons of that. But if the weather has been perfect, then I bet the field was picked before you got there.
