Few questions

Afoaf is letting some jars cool down tonight he will be placing them in a box with a towl aound it he a heating pad under the blanket . How often shld they be exposed to light to keep the mold away ? Also whats the best way of knowing when the jars are cool enough , by the feel of the glass? If afoaf is using a p.c will the glass crack if taken out of p.c to soon? Thanks in advance !!!

One more question , afoaf placed two jars that wouldent fit in the cooker in a kettle foe the boiling method he used a rag on the bottom , but when lloking at the two jars the brf lookes dried up like a light brown almost white tint. Does this meen there scorched over dried ? Maybey to much heat was on them ? What can be done with them ? Any help would be great , thanks !

Great way to bake your jars dry. Bad idea. Light keeps away mold? Doubtful! Let them cool 5 hours, inside the PC before opening.

If you sterilize correctly, there is no chance of contamination occuring until you innoculate the jars. Do a clean innoc. and you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Light? No, a warm dark place is where you want the jars to colonize.

Like Puscle said, wait *at least* five hours of cooling before you even think of innoculating...
