Depends what country the room is in...

He could incubate on top of things that are already heated slightly. TV decoders, dvd-players, computers, fridges, shelves above hot water tanks.
I used to have jars in a locker in a college which was near a metal furnace

Does he have a fridge? Put a container on top, and slide it towards the back slowly, until the temperature you see reads 86f on your thermometer.

LOL! Good point. It really depends on the place of storage. Can you store your work right out in the open, like on top of a fridge? Or, do you need to use a closet exc.?
