What is the best way to strain the sludge in the bottom of a quart jar after pressure cooking malt?

AFOAF was making some liquid cultures in quart sized mason jars using distilled water and extra light powdered malt extract. She then pressure cooked the said jars for 25 minutes @15 psi, and after it was done there was a bunch of sludge in the bottom of the jar. She decided to try and filter it out with 2 coffee filters. That was very slow and messy so she then again tried it using only 1 filter and it was not much better.
Is this sludge going to pose any problems to the LQ if I DON'T filter it out? Does anyone know a better way to filter it?
What are the potential problems(if any) if I DON'T strain it and re-PC?
If it is merely a problem of it clogging up needles, I do have 14 gauge needles. (as well as 16's)
Thank you and Happy Trails :mushroom2: :mushroom2: :mushroom2: :mushroom2:

Its a problem of clogging needles (slightly) and hard to see growth/contams. It _shouldnt_ be a problem.

She has some in her incubator now that have not been strained and have been incubating for several days now. The top layer of it you can see thick growth that is thick and great looking, seems like all of the sludge just falls to the bottom of the jar.
