That's sad man.  I've known a few people like that myself.
I could never let myself get to that point. On average I drink a 6 pack of tallcans throughout the course of a night. Once in a while I will indulge. I don't usually get drunk because I span a 6 pack of tallcans throughout a whole night. It's just a habit so I guess yeah I am an alcoholic to an extent just not a severe alcoholic case like the guy you mentioned.

Yeah now I understand where you are going with it!  I'm not too up on the whole DJ/spinning scene.  You put all of your sweat into spinning beats I'm sure it would be very self-fulfilling to have your own vinyl.
Will you be putting anything on CD's at all?? Is that even possible?

Exactly. He's HARDCORE. His parents made him go to re-hab for alcoholism, so now when he goes to their house (every weekend) he keeps a case in the car, in the 90+ degree heat, and continuously makes excuses to go outside, where he slams HOT cans of beer. His ex-girlfriend, who is very pretty and friendly, dumped him after five years, because who wants to date a raging alcoholic? He doesn't get mean or anything, he's just a drunk. He really wants to get back with her, but REFUSES (well, not really; he just can't) to quit drinking. She'd give him another chance, too! That guy is gonna have fucking cirrohsis by the time he's thirty. He drinks more than a case and a half a day, plus however many shooters. When he needs energy, he drinks a 'Sparks' (it's like redbull, but is 14 proof). It's pretty sad.
My best friend back east is kinda like that. He doesn't NEED to drink, physically, but he drinks a lot anyway. Except he's really stupid, and gets DUI's. He's currently serving mandatory jail time for his third DUI.

Actually, I'm going to get some cables soon that will allow me to rig my turntables up to the computer, and then get some software that will allow me to save my mixes as mp3's. So hopefully within a month or so I'll have something for you guys to hear. The thing is, I won't share a mix unless it's PERFECT, and I'm very critical of myself. The timing, the cues, the tracks, and the mixes themselves have to be mint, or the mix never sees the light of day. I've sent tapes out to Delta9 and BlissedOut, though. I'd send you guys some, but soon enough it'll be online.

Electrode - That sounds like a very sad situation. He could turn things around for himself if his spirit was truly willing. Also I'm sorry to hear that your friend is irresponsible with his drink. That's not good at all.

I can't wait to hear some of your mixes elect. There's somthing very cool about actually knowing the person who put their blood and sweat into making somthing. Perfection OCD's can be a bitch but that makes your work all the more better and meaningful.

He's such a good guy, but he never thinks that any of his actions are going to have a consequence. I hate that about him. Drunk driving is really fucking stupid. He's a bad enough driver as it is; in a way I'm glad he's got these DUI's and is now paying heavily for them. I'd rather see him go to jail for ten years (he's only serving 3 months right now) than hear about him killing himself or someone else. I love the kid, but he's such a fucking moron. I really hope this is a turning point in his life.

Yeah hopefully for his sake the jail-time will do some good. He sounds like a good person who just makes some shitty choices. I can relate because I used to be arrogant in a way that I thought my bad choices would not effect myself or anybody else around me. Got over that quickly. hah. Totally understood that you would rather see him in jail and paying fines then living with the demons that he killed somebody. It's still sad but probably for the best.

Thanks a lot, bro! The Shroomery's been a big motivator for me... I used to think that the only person who wanted to hear me play was my gf, but I've had a lot of people ask for my mixes, and I really want to comply. You're too kind though. 
Cap'n: I have a very limited amount of experience with both of those programs, but think I'd rather use Reason. I'm stoked about this, but I think I'll be frustrated at first, just like learning to DJ. I'd play, suck, and then not want to touch it for a week. That's what I guess producing is going to be like. I'll keep with it though. What do you do with the songs you make?

i really only use acid to do the actualy recording,then use reason to put it all together.....
i just dumb it down,and not use too many "machines"......

when i can really sit down and do it a few nights i will.....
it takes a good week or two just to get my vocal cords back in the swing of things....
and i play like 6 different instraments on most of the tracks(there all pirmative), then i have to find a bassist, my old one was the chick i was with after my xfeincee.....
