Cheese subsrate?
    #4534800 - 08/14/05 05:53 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

I was just looking for food to eat, when i came across a bag of cheese.

MOLD!! ALL OVER IT. nasty
then i got a thinking, if this mold grew, could mycelium grow? i doubt it, but i might try since i have some extra spores.

That'd be sweet to have some cheesy mushies...

But alas, save your spores...

i dunno for sure, but i don't think you can sterilize it. i mean high temps would melt the cheese. although maybe you can grow shrooms from fondue. haha

I dont think cheese holds the correct chemicals for the cubensis to produce the chemicals needed to trip. There was once a thread on here where someone used uncle bens white rice. Sure the mushrooms grew great and they looked awesome. But you could eat a pound of them and not feel a thing.

Your forgetting one key thing. Cheese is the by product of bacteria. Its nothing but a block of it. Thats just nasty anyway. YUCK!
