 fruit casings in with cakes??

I got a small 10gal. Fruiting chamber. right now I have a few cakes fruiting. I got my casings ready to go but I only had enough room for 3 trays, so I had to put the forth tray in the same chamber with the cakes. Would this hurt the cakes any? Or would it hurt the casing any?I had to move 1 cake around a little to would this hurt the cake any, I also had to move around some of the verm? My hands were pretty clean but I'm worried about maybe the cake aborting when you touch it& it's fruiting? Well thanks guys.

You could. But casings don't require as much humidity, so it's best to fruit them seperately.

Well my fruiting chamber has 2 big square holes on it (each side) with 4 layer of tyvek. I think that would help out air exchange and reduce humidity, no?
None of m friends are around, so I can't ask them.

Yeah, sure... But what you don't understand is that they require two different humidity levels to fruit. Cakes require 100 percent humidity, while casings only need like 90 I think.
So either way, you can't control like two different humidities in the same fruiting chamber.

If your going to fruit casings with cakes...
stick with 95% or higher humidity.

I'd make one fruiting chamber for your cakes...
and one for your casings though.

ah! OK well how about the rest of my questions? About touching the cakes and such? Also while fruiting the casings should they be covered?

Buy some Purell anti-bacterial hand sanitizer. Most dollar stores have it.
Try not to touch the cakes if you can help it. And yes you should cover your casings with a permeated layer of saran wrap, or press-n-seal.

Oh, OK so when do I take the Press-N-Seal off? Should I press holes in it? I knew I was doing some thing wrong, Thanks man for helping me out so fast. Sorry for all the questions, I'm just so close! So I have to have some press n seal on, even during the fruiting stage huh? I thought you had to have some tin foil until it was ready to fruit. Thanks for correcting me! I hope it's not to late to put some thing on them!!

On the casing 101 tek, it says to cover your casing with foil until you fruit, then you just remove it and put it in your chamber?? So I'm confused? Can you guys clear this up for me?

You don't need to cover your casings if you are fruiting them and they are in a fruiting chamber.
