does everyone else notice how rhizomorphic this strain is? I got a shitload of thick strandy mycellium growing in my jars, the equadors in the other jars are a lot more fluffy...
should make for some good flushes..:)

How long did it take for signs of growth to appear with the Puerto Rican strain? I was curious. My friend's, friend is growing PES Amazonian Cubies and those things grow like crazy, lots of rhizomorphic growth. They showed signs of growth in under three days after inoculation into pint jars. He's already shaken the jars to re-distribute the mycelium. Puerto Rican cubies are supose to be super potent. Everybody is buzzing about it on the net. Let us know how they come out. Good luck.

My PR jars are 3 days old. They just sharted to show some minimal growth today. I dont know if it will turn out to be cotteny or rizomorphic but it looks more rizo.

my PR's have been real rhizo... not too fluffy at all... for me on verm/brf the mycel has been sort of transluscent and not too fluffy but with what looks like chopped up floss growing everywhere all through the non-fluffy stuff!!

I found PRs and Tasmanians to have highly rhizomorphic mycelium - whether on birdseed, rye or brf...

yeah I started seeing it after about 3 days on dark rye flour at 86F
now it's been about 10 days and they're about 3/4ths of the way done i'd say, lots of root like mycelium...I can't wait to birth them. :)

I'm new and just today, 2 of my seven 1/2 pint jars of puerto rican completed colonization, inoculated on 10/11, the other 5 jars are over 3/4 colonized, all super rhizo with long heavy strands like thick fiverglass cloth all over. Should I birth the 2 today? I wonder if these puerto ricans fruit on the cakes or I need to case them, otherwise the cakes look awesomely healthy and I got all the equipement needed to do it right. Hey, Hello? Anyone with advice on this strain?

i'm gonna try growing mine from cakes, it should work alright I would think.

A friend of mine ate 3.5 grams of Puerto cub's last night and he found them visual and an enjoyable trip but not as potent as rumored. He's tripped harder of Thai ks cubies and PES Haiwaiin's on the same dose as the Puerto's. He really enjoyed the vibe though.
I think I'll skip em though...

your friend must of dried them wrong, or had a bad batch of spores...because everyone I talk to says they're a notch above the traditional cube.
we shall see in a few weeks though...:)

I'm not saying there not I haven't personally tried em but he did every thing as usual he really liked em just didn't find em that overpowering.
Anyways just onepersons opinion.
I'll probably skip em due to lack of interst they dont seem all that great.

I think PRs are the most visual cube I've tried, also the most potent strain I personally have possesion of (cambos, mexi, B+, equadorian, and the PR). Growth is usually very rhizmorphic also, I still have spores from the original print I purchased, I can NOT get those spores to colonize grain for anything. I had to use agar with my first batch, but the spores from then on have colonized grain very well. I got my print from the first batch they sold at the sporeworks, maybe the strain wasn't as "tame" yet?

Maybe...
AFoaf got a low germination batch of Puerto' syringes from Sporeworks and decided not to complain seeing as the first print he got from them was contaminated and then the Low germination syringes came as a replacment. They were clean and uncontaminated but only germinated in 1 spot took forever and a day to colonize. Actually about 2 1/2 months to colonize. So if this explains it...
I think I'll stick with www.thehawkseye.com for syringes.
Anyways thats how it happened.
Got prints to trade in spore exchange forum...

dude I had a syringe from that same batch of low germination spores from Sporeworks..
they addressed the situation right away and sent me back a syringe within 3 days of me e-mailing them, (must have sent it out on the same day or express mail) I have no complaints from the sporeworks whatsoever, those things happen. they were professional about it.

I find it particularly hard to believe that sporeworks sent you (or your foaf) a contaminated print - every print i have used from workman has been so sterile that i have been able to literally drop the whole print into the syringe-making jar rather than scrape the spores in... Sporeworks are professionals man, they know their shit - id think twice about inferring bad shit about them - they have been around a long time and without complaints...
