 I got high from eating dinner

a friend and I made our super famous Surinamese chicken curry and we ate a lot of it. It's very spicy and tastes amazing. After eating we both had this sedative stoned-like feeling that got us in a funny mood. We both found it weird that we got high from eating dinner  but we enjoyed it. What could have caused this? The massive amounts of chicken, or mega hot peppers and lots of spices? (probably neither of those, but still it is weird  )

hmm, that about endorphins sounds plausible, maybe the spices caused that (+the joy of eating such tasty food released dopamine, who knows)

I ate some super spicy curry a week or two ago, and I got a super buzz from it
I don't know what they use to crank up the spice, but if it's hot peppers then it's capsicum, which, among other things.. increases circulation and strengthens the heart and pulse rate immediately after ingesting.. releasing endorphins. lots of hot peppers can cause a euphoric like effect.
That and combined with the nourishment of food, the body probably goes into dopamine mode

the body releases morphine because it translates the 'hot' spicyness of certain peppers as pain. the hotter the spice, the more 'buzz' you get from it.

It was the hot peppers, real hot peppers give me a natural buzz too..they are good for when you have a cold as well, it clears out your nose if you have a stuffy nose...
