Dennis Rader
    #4527913 - 08/12/05 07:57 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

I was watching this man on TV tonight, and was simply fascinated.

This is a man who has transcended all good and evil, a man who has risen above other humans and even the common human experience. For all intents and purposes, he has become enlightened through his own pursuits, and in the end gave up his normal life and freedom simply to experience something both a part of and greater than himself.

The way he talks and thinks, it's simply beautiful. You listen to a normal human speak his mind, and see the sum total of all the prejudices and delusions they've picked up over the years. But you listen to a mind like Rader's, and everything opens up into a unique, unexplored territory; you see a mind of hedonism, of expansion, really a mind done with searching the common plains and wanting to climb that snowy mountain on the horizon. You may not make it over, as Rader himself found out, but it's the urge to explore, to continue beyond the normal into something beyond good and evil that represents the best human nature has to offer.

I know I'd love to meet him, this man who has gnawed away at a community and tortured individual people. He seems like the type of man who long ago realized the true nature of humans and long ago decided he was going to live life differently. For the constraints we feel are of our own making, and we can escape them and climb into a type of human rarely before seen. The journey itself will end most, but it's better to die tunneling under the ground in a bid for freedom than it is to die rotting away in this prison so immense some people can't comprehend anything beyond it.

People talking about him like this is what he thinks about while jerking off every night. He is a loser, plain and simple. Nothing enlightening about wanting fame and attention through a cowardly act. It isn't hard to kill old ladies with knives and guns. It doesn't take any strength of human character to be unwilling to endure your pain, but instead pass it off to others.

He is didn't transcend beyond maggot shit.

That still doesn't help me find out who this guy is. Is there any link to him so I can make up my own mind.?

I will keep your view in mind though.

Did he ever claim to be strong and brave? Maybe it is not his goal to be strong and brave

I didn't say anything about strong and brave.

But it is undeniable that he was quenching his thirst for power.

So what are your thoughts on him? Do you respect him? Admire him?

and you were talking about cowardly actions and lack of strenght, so, I was responding to that. Maybe he prefers being a coward

He's also known as the BTK killer, recently captured in Kansas.

It takes more balls to strangle an innocent human being to death than most people would think. Unless of course he was completely consumed by something that made him do it, he still had to overcome the fears of getting caught, the fears of the pain it would inflict on his family and finally go out and start torturing and killing people. He risked his freedom and his entire life to go out and take the lives of others, and in the end lost them because of his actions.

Indeed, that is all he was doing. He transcended everything else into simply being a man looking for a power. If you listen to him talk, you can really tell this. He has no remorse for his victims, and in fact looks back on them almost as if they were his high points. The only remorse he has is getting caught, an act that took away any power in the present except for the power left over from the past.

What more do we have other than our power over other people? Take that away and we're just dissociated organisms walking through a disconnected world.

i'm sure he's transcended many things
but he's still an enemy to decent people and any knowledge he can provide should be done so from a very small cage. what a sicko.

Well, Ravus.  We each have our own path to travel in this world. If this is how you feel about life than it's how you feel. This man is a sociopath. Intelligent but without connection to heart.  I understand better all of your previous posts now. I thought you were comming from another place.  All I can say is, good luck with all that.

Tell me Icelander, what do you think is going on in the mind of a serial killer if not enlightenment?

Not enlightenment in the traditional sense, but still they have seen a light that makes them break away from everything normal they've ever known. Unless they had never known normality and had only known beatings and psychological torture, which, while true for some does not explain the majority.

I have no idea what you refer to by enlightenment. I also have no idea what goes on in someone elses mind unless they share it. So why don't you tell me.
