Weed Strains... Indica & Sativa
    #4525698 - 08/12/05 08:49 AM (11 years, 5 months ago)

Never really knew there were two main strains offering two different "highs"

I've smoked sometimes and got an incredible mind high and would analyse everything yet other times i would get that incredible all body floating sensation body high.

What does everyone prefer?

From what i've read...
Indica - Body high, buds smell like BO
Sativa - Mental high, buds smell sweeter

I would say I like Sativa, mental highs better. Though sometimes, there is nothing better than being couchlocked by the body high. Peace

Good answer, i like it when your content in any position and you can only move your eyes around and mutter little comments.  :smirk:

The mental high seems to make me very paranoid but i suppose its set and setting really

Psst..theres three, you forgot ruderalis  Its much less common though..

I like to have both on hand, along with nice mixtures...sativa during the day, indica at night.

Indica, easier to keep small/ Sativa wants to grow as tall as a tree.

As for getting high, I like Sativa better. Bodily pleasures are good with Indica, but I enjoy a mental high much better.

Isn't most pot out there now a hybrid of the two? I remember reading that its fairly rare to find a strickly one or the other bud out there...Could be totally wrong though.

I personally prefer Indica due to the fact that paranoia and over-analysis is brought down a ton in comparison to Sativa.

All commericial dank i see is all hybrid stuff im guessing. Its been so long since ive seen just a good straight up skunk type bud. Its all cistrussy/fruity/piney type buds i can ever get. The good outdoor mid grade pot i usually can get(damn you pre harvest drought) i think is a lot of times mostly sativa. Real clear headed mental highs.

If im token before work or somthing when i still gotta get shit done id prefer sativa, but after a long days work and im chillen back to relax the days stress off. Indica....

Cannabis sativa for sure, much better high IMO. Pure strains are in fact quite rare, and sativa is rarer (because growers like the nice small plants with big yields, like rod said. sativas in Africa can grow to be over 20ft tall).
The best bud that i have ever smoked (EVER) was some dank bubblegum (a pure strain of Cannabis sativa). I consider the "stoned" affect of weed to be negative. The actual high is what i strive for.

sorry for the bump..

i definitely like sativa highs more. i've found that indica strains can make me become all paranoid. i'm confused that you said sativa strains can make you paranoid. usually when its sativa i get this euphoric, "everything's allrite" feeling, while indicas sometimes do the opposite (dysphoria, make me feel like shit). not all the time, though. i enjoy indicas, sitting down, eating, watching a good movie. sativa strains i love going outside, listening to music, playing guitar. too bad there's just not enough sativa around where i live.

Does anyone have pictures of both strains for comparison purposes?

Any pictures of actual dried buds and not just the leaves? I've never in my whole life actually come across real leaves like that so it doesn't help me to identify anything.

I conect my feeling of being real with vision. When I close my eyes I feel like Im basicly not alive. When I smoke sativa it makes my vision way better, and gives me a feeling of being here like no other. Like I feel like im here not, but on good weed I feel SO MUCH MORE real... They call sativa mid-grade around here, and goes for $100 a ounce.

I love me a pure indica strain. It's like ingesting opiates.

Although I've never had the oppurtunity to try a pure sativa, as this is hard to come by.

depends!
after a hard days work, I can really enjoy an indica, just lying down, some nice music and Im all set.

But otherwise a sativa is much better, for going out, on festivals, concerts, for going on a hike through the forest etc. Though paranoia is  indeed more common to the sativa, but luckily for me I experience paranoia more often sober than high

a nicely blended strain is key here... if i smoke (on rare occasion)
my buddy grows a 30 indica 70 sativa strain... and it is very lovely i must say

I experience paranoia with indica mostly. I can't control my thoughts, so I try to write them down. it fogs up my train of thought, usually. sativa, from my experience, i can control my thoughts.
