Trippy Cartoons
    #452556 - 11/09/01 04:49 AM (22 years, 4 months ago)

A few nights ago a friend and I each ate about an 1/8th and a half of magic mushrooms. I started to peek and was having a very enjoyable trip and that was when we decided to turn on the TV. The "Acme Hour" was on Cartoon Network at about 1:00 am. The cartoons they play are not the normal Warner Brothers cartoons with Bugs and Daffy. The cartoons they were playing struck me as meant for people tripping. One cartoon was a bunch of New York City billboards coming alive. These cartoons aren't meant for kids -- there were advertisements for car insurance and matresses. I really advise anyone to watch this because I thought it was extremely funny, and when you see those cartoons you'll probably come to the same conclusion.

ahem... Sealab-2021 is the funniest cartoon (on cartoon network) and is trippy enough alone that no drugs are required
for a good trip cartoon imho i recomend Courage the Cowardly Dog.

but above all the las vegas episode of the simpsons -"best trip ever"

That's the thing, some of these cartoons get very confusing! Try watching Ren and Stimpy, and they're in cradles, and some lady is taking diapers off them. She's dissapointed because Ren's is empty. "I won't tell father this time." she says. Then she takes off stimpy's. It's hanging heavy. She's so proud. She puts it on a shelf full of loaded diapers. At this point, I'm thinking "WTF!?". Of course it's pretty fun anyhow.

The coolest cartoon I saw was a Dexter's Laboratory. I was actually high, not trippin, but Dexter had made this remote that would reverse time. He would be walking forward saying something and then hit the button and start going backwards and talking backwards. He did this through the whole 30 min of the cartoon. I was stoned out of my mind and all I could do was stare slack-mouthed saying "fuck...that's wierd..."

I can definately back up Dexter. He does some pretty amazing stuff. (blown my mind on a few occasions.) If you're watching on YTV, stay tooned for the Powerpuff girls.

On adult swim there is an awesome cartoon called cowboy bebop. I liked epesode 17 very much.
Here is a summary of the epesode i found at http://niko-niko.net/bebop/index.html

Epesode 17 Mushroom Samba

An absolutely hilarous episode! Really
one of my favorites! The crew of the
Bebop are hungry. REALLY hungry. There is
no food left on the ship (not even for
Ein), and everyone is ready to pass out
from hunger. The Bebop is fairly close to
___ at this time when they are sideswiped
by a fleeing spaceship. They decide to
land on the planet below to make repairs,
and Edward takes it upon herself to find
some food. Her explorations lead to her
encountering a running fugitive (hey, if
we capture him we will be able to buy
food!) to the discovery of some rather
potent mushrooms! Ed feeds one of the
mushrooms to Ein and watches with
interest as the dog starts acting funny.
She then decides to test the effect of
the 'shrooms on Spike, Jet, and Faye! (oh
how evil of you Ed :) It's great to see
how they react when under the mushroom
high ^_^ Ed is smart enough not to try
the stuff herself, and continues her
quest for food. This episode is filled
with humor, freaky hallucinations, and a
great chase scene!

I have logged in this once so that I can set the "last seen" feature up.  let the faggots flow forth into OTD and have it.  Its funny how they all grew nuts after I left.  I'm not here, I'm not reading, but I urge you all to keep melting down over me.  I know, I hurt alot of people, and they deserved it.  epic win for me, epic fail for you.

ythan, you rock dude.  i feel that my time at the shroomery was very positive and enjoyable, but this site is no longer for me. im not mad or upset or disappointed, i just want no part in a pg rated faggot festival.

I dont believe it, none of you have said what I expected to be the best cartoon to watch while frying....
TWO WORDS:

YELLOW SUBMARINE

The Beatles movie is an awesome cartoon with great fantasy music. The dialog is funny and the movie is innocent in nature. A MUST SEE ! Its out on DVD and VHS everywhere. Best to watch it stoned first though...

I've recently rediscovered anime tripping...I know thease dont realy classify as "cartoon's" but damn. Especialy in the origonal japanese thease are a constant source of amusement. Wowies! the language barrrior seems to break down and you almost understand what is being said (as english begins to sound like babble anyway) I personaly choose anime geared toward preteens as it has less gore and violence than most manga. Try "DragonHalf" (this girl is nutz)..... Also completely off the subject of anime, try the REALY old disney stuff. my personal favorite is Silly Symphonies..thease people had to have been on somthing.

okay i've taken up enought space with my pointless babble..

Damn, I thought this thread was going to be on Fantasia.
Older cartoons that they show on Acme Hour definately have some shit that goes beyond kids understanding. They go into some wierd subjects like prostitution, drug use, and many other adult themes. That I am pretty sure most kids don't understand, but they still watch. I love that shit.
I watched that adult swim once, I couldn't really get into any of the stuff they had on.
Scooby Doo is fun to watch baked because Shaggy is always stoned with you, he is funny as hell to watch, and he eats like no other. Scoobs too.

Mushroom Samba is my favorite Bebop episode for sure, and that's saying something, considering I love them all so much.

Just wanted to mention too that I watched Secret of Nimh (excellent by the way) after drinking some intense tea...something about watching the old stuff that you 'got' as a kid...it just sorta streams all back.
