what do you want in life?

Well...what do you want? What are you getting at? Lately Ive been very down, doing the old thinkin about life thing. I work. I pay bills. I have friends. I play/love music. But why? Im not accomplishing anything. But why do I need to? Im definately not enjoying it...so why am I doing it? Do you have some sort of great plan for life? If you do...why are you doing it? Why not?
Now I know Im gonna get the "Get as much weed/LSD/mushrooms as I can...thatd be fuckin sick" response. Please pay no attention. But seriously.....what are you doing and why? Is it making you happy enough to do it day in and day out?

I want a better job - something I look forward too. I want to own a house with lots of trees and privacy. I want love. I want animals. I want some peace of mind. I want to travel and read. I want more friends.
I am not there yet.

"I want a better job - something I look forward too. I want to own a house with lots of trees and privacy. I want love."
Do you think you can accomplish this happily, dealing with constant trial and error? This is my situation.
"I want animals."
Couldnt be too hard
"I want some peace of mind."
Definately the hardest one
"I want to travel and read."
Ide love to travel, but with the shitty job/requesting days off thing, looks like its outa the question for me...for now
No matter what I do...it seems nice guys finish last.....I havent even crossed the finish line yet. I feal like I have to finish the race, knowing the whole time Ive lost by a long shot. No matter what I do, I know Im gonna lose.
Sorry to shit on everyone. Ive had what I think could possibly be the worst day in history, for anyone. And it doesnt look like its gonna clear up anytime soon......damn race.

I'd say "give it some time, man" but you'd probably go off on me.
Am I right?

It's good that you've realized this already. This may sound pessimistic but i think in the end we're all going to lose. Or win it really depends on how you want to look at it. But I think we all end up in the same situation as everything else on the planet. It doesn't really matter what you do or don't do in life. But this may boil down to a difference in philosophical views.
What I'm getting at I guess is I do what makes me happy. I don't want to leave any huge impact or experience what everyone tells me i should experience to be happy.
What I want in life is a big huge pussy to curl up and go to sleep in.

A lot of signs have told me that I won't be finding "peace of mind" until much later in life, and I've got no qualms with this. It will probably be this way for most people, and others will not even be so lucky. Right now, I suffer a lot from a sort of Holden Caulfield complex, I think. I'm not interested in doing much of anything, and certainly not interested in institutionalizing myself - basically because it feels to me that no one can really be much of anything without being completely phony about it.
Right now I desire quietude and should probably work towards developing my life somewhat, because it has been quite stagnant. I agree with William Blake when he stated that still waters breed reptiles of the mind. I feel it now, and I feel like doing nothing is potentially more taxing than doing anything else, but you're welcome to disagree.
Aside from quietude, I don't know what else I could really expect. I am willing to just see what happens, take the initiative to change it when I will, and accept it as such at the very end.
Sorry for rambling.

I want to pay attention to whats inside my head rather than outside.
I want to stay unafraid of death, and happy.
But I don't want a lot, just enough.

Adventure -from time to time, not constantly. Nature. Peace and quiet. A little wooden house in the mountains.

i want to live my life the way i choose. as long as i have the choice of how i feel about my situation, no matter what i may have to deal with, i can still be happy.
its all a certain point of view.
im on some kind of path, it really doesnt matter what kind, but just that im at least on one.
fate, luck, destiny, serendipity, synchronictity, just fucking LOVE for example are all elemements from my own personal path for spiritual growth i am following, of my own choosing.
what is spiritual growth?
defining what is better behavior, and trying to set an example that you can be happy, and you can live life to its fullest. fucking ride that hand that got dealt you man, fucking BLUFF if you have to, but in the end its all still a game, and you should be having fun!
peace!

I want a nice girl, maybe a kid and some peace and quiet where i can enjoy life with my girl and my children. What for? For the enjoyment of it... when I do something, I feel as if I've accomplished something. Is it very important? Probably not in the grand scheme of things, but it's important for my own peace of mind and happiness.
I've already got the nice girl... now I've got to figure out the other two =P

unfortunately money makes the world go round!
that's why so many of us are selling ourselves short on some craptastic job. and so we get caught up in the race and find it hard to get out.
well today i'm going to start getting what i want. i quit my craptastic job (yesterday) working for one of the biggest corporations in the world. i often thought to my-self that i didn't belong there. and i often found my-self disagreeing with their politics.
things will be tight for awhile but in the end i will prevail and will no longer need the system, which is my main goal. i am going to become more efficient in all aspects of my life. and best of all i know my man is beside me every step.
know what you want and go after it.

Am I right?
No...it just seems Ive mulled everything over in my head thousands of times, and nothing sounds fitting. I dont want to work my whole life for something that when I get Im not going to enjoy.
Personally what I want is love, mostly someone to love and be with, and just be completly happy. The search is getting very hard and tiresome. Trial and error my whole life. However I know when I do find her, my life will be complete.
