The 'coon and the fool

I drove past a dead raccoon tonight, he was in the center of the lane, no one had hit him except initial impact, It was a side blow, he is bleeding from the mouth, the body is perfect. Typical male raccoon in his prime. His coat is beautiful. As I drove past the soul beckoned me back. I picked him up with some work gloves and put him in my truck, I examined the body to make sure it was flawless and drove on... as I was turning around I found a giant patch of edible boletus mushrooms in this persons yard that stood out greatly.
So this raccoon is in my truck bed. I'm going to skin him. I think it's gonna be really bloody. Most I've cleaned is a squirrel or fish. I need to do this right, I'm gonna cure the hide for a nice soft addition to make a hat of the don of the wild men. Poor thing was asking to be buried. He tried to invade my mind, the raccoons soul was lingering on him for about 10 minutes before it past, his body was still warm when I found it. He's in a smoother place, I think it was quick, stupid feller.
Now I just gotta figure out how I'm gonna do this and not make a mess, I guess I could just take a knife down his belly, pull the skin back and off his arms, trim it up, pull off any tendons, stretch it out on a board to dry a bit before I start the cure...
Then I could like, bounce around in Daniel boon outfits kicking ninjas asses with musket rifles and cannons shooting apple seeds.

You have about all of the basics on the skinning tip. You had better do it fairly quick, while the body is still fresh, or it could get nasty.

Trying to explain the mind invasion? When I was a kid my dog died when I was at camp. I felt him say goodbye to me from hundreds of miles away. Ive never been able to explain it.

Damn man, I waited too long. he was hard as a motherfucker to skin. I ended up doing just the tail and that was hard enough as it was. Next time I will know I buried the rest of him.
Ben: when my cat died I saw his spirit come into my room out of the corner of my eye, he is resting here peacefully :0

Saw him? Damn. I cant really remember/describe how his soul made me feel. I told my Mom I had a strong urge to lay in the sun with him. Damn it was hard to lose that dog. UPS truck to the brain.
