Dried out or Dead Mycelium

Does anyone have a link to a pic or a post about dried out mycelium or dead mycelium?.. im trying to determine if i let my jars get to hot and the mycelium died or got cooked or is just setback now... i will have pics tonight of my jars but im at work now and this is driving me nuts thinking about the jars

It doesnt look any different from live mycelium. If it grows its alive, if not, then not.

wait, you're the same kid who is talking about leaving his jars in the pc....have you inoculated them? did you inoculate them and THEN pc them? wtf?

see the mycelium was fluffy and looked healthy.. but then i shook the jars and now they are not fluffy look more like something spilled on the corn and dried. my temps when i found them this way were about 88 degrees.. so now i dont know if there fried or just setback

if you shake them, they will flatten out and sorta hide. you should see them recolonize within 3-4 days, they are probably okay.

Oh I see we were responding to different people..I was talking to the other person, not you, saying your other post about jars in the PC, are probably new jars and not the ones your refering to. Puwtrip answered your question though.

If mycelium ever reaches 106F it is dead. You sterilize the jars, let them cool off to ROOM TEMPERATURE, and then inoculate them.

Sounds like you inoculated them and then PCed, (or boiled them, whatever), in which case your mycelium/ or spores are most assuredly dead.

puwtrip thanks for the info .. when i get home in a couple hours i gonna post a couple pics of my jars.. hopefully you can give them a look and let me know since it seems like you have experienced my dilema... i will pm you with the pics also .. thanks .. you given me hope thanks

Oh, sorry I missed that. They're fine then. When you shake them the mycelium seemingly disappears, but don't worry, it's still in there.
