MRI today
    #4521825 - 08/11/05 01:52 PM (11 years, 3 months ago)

An F350 extended cab/bed with concrete slabs in its bed hit me at 43-47mph while I was stopped at a red light. If I hadn't had my seatbelt on -- or my foot on the brake while in neutral (I drive standard) -- I would have been hit by oncoming 50-65mph traffic.

This was six months ago. I've been in and out of physical therapy and in and out of mind-numbing pain, as well as back spasms. I've been severely dehydrated due to the muscle relaxers and drink 2-3 gallons of water a day and piss dark yellow ONCE, at night.

My doctor thinks the muscle-supporting joints in my spinal cord may have been fractured. There is no surgery for this. If this proves to be true on my MRI today, I face a lifetime of steroidal injections(non-anabolic) and painkillers. I know what these drugs do, and what they could do to me, and I know it would get ugly.

Now I'm grinding my teeth, chain smoking, and biting my nails and inside of my lip. Smoking a bowl did no good. :/

Man, it sucks when you suffer when other people mess up.

I can't do much more than wish you luck and hope for the best.

Good luck and take care.

Thanks. I've had MRIs before for simple shoulder surgeries, but they didn't have possible lifelong fuckupedness on the table.

With such a trippy avatar you should have a better sig

I was in a car accident once.  The dude behind me was looking at another car accident and crashed into me.  He hit the brakes pretty hard so he wasn't going that fast, so no damage done, besides to the car.

And I did have a really cool signature that Tyl3r made... but he said he got stoned one day and deleted it while I was away.  I don't know how to get it back.

Yeah back injuries are a fucking bitch. Especially if you have to do physical work for a living. I am just starting tech school for Air Conditioning and my instructor was telling us all about it. Thats actually the only reason he teaches because he blew two discs and had to have them fused. Pretty cool guy actually. He described the surgery and he said they have to cut open those muscles your talking about that wrap around your spine to hole your shit together. He said thats what is the most painfull thing about the next couple weeks afterwards. I hope you can make a recovery bro.
