Look up fractional sterilization. This involves heating the grains several times to get endospores to germinate, then killing them in seperate steps.

Of course you can, brown rice flour and verm, its caled the PF Tek and its listed all over.

You cant use WHOLE grains without a PC though. If you dont want to get one, I suggest the PF Tek, spawned to horse poo...cant beat horse poo as a substrate.

You can read up on whole grain fractional sterilization here.

Yeah, that might work, personally never tried it, but it seems like a pain in the ass..you probably could do it that way though.

Oh, I'm not saying that I would want to do it myself, but if you really want to use whole grains and you don't have a pc, I guess this is your only alternative. I agree with you Scat. It would be a ROYAL pain in the ass, but considering that this hobby already has me playing with horse shit, I can't say that anything is above trying :smirk:

Whole grains without PC shouldn't be a prob, just use peroxide solution instead of water when preparing the glasses. When the peroxide had enough time to kill everything then boil the glasses. Since peroxide isn't very stable above room temperature it should break up and leave nothing, but a sterile glass with grain and water.

btw one could add some iron powder bc iron works as a catalyst for the breakup of H2O2

Frac sterilization works about 25% of the time. Meaning, out of 10 jars, you may get 3 without contamination.

excuse me but whats the point with the quote?

the methode i suggested uses the fact that H2O2 can be used to kill microorganisms, and after that it can be cooked, so that there is nothing left but water H2O

btw about your sig:

Dont let your fear win over reason, cmon you know that one cant fight terror with an army. Ever heard that fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity.

Except thats not a fact, its incorrect. Peroxide will not sterilize grains, what will happen is peroxidase will be produced and break down the hydrogen peroxide into nothing.

You can kill MOs with peroxide i agree that maybe not all organisms die and peroxidase may be produced, but i dont think that this will happen with concentrations like 30% peroxide.
If I am wrong I am sorry for giving bad advice.
