today i saw some pretty big mushies.


then some even bigger ones .


i found these, but it looks like someone already had a bite out of it.


i saw this pretty thing.


but then i came across this creepy thing, it ls full of cavities that contain red liquid that looks just like blood.


but then the whole forrest caught fire, and i had to go home.


more next time.

hydnellum peckii is the name of that fungus with the red goo (the strawberries and cream mushroom)

I find ones around here mainly on pine stumps.

the red goo is secreted in wet weather.

I think you have some boletus edulis there. Also, that pick with the fly agaric and berries is beautiful! I nominate that for pic of the month!

yes, there was at least 15 of them big ones in that area, but i could only get four of them together in a nice picture. unfortunately they are not worth eating when they get that big.
