Experimenting Find.

After doing a few cakes, and their nutrients running out, it seemed so hard to believe that it was hard to add more nutrients to a mycelium covered cake. Of course this was harder than it seemed seeing as you couldn't add more brown rice flower without risking contamination or really much else. I took the cakes I had after 4 flushes and had them for a bit with absolutely no growth. I decided to do some experiments.
I crumbled 3 cakes and left 3 whole. I tried two different fertilizers after reading the post on BREAKTHROUGH. I used MiracleGrow and mixed it with some water and poured it onto one cake and onto one crushed cake. I took the other fertilizer (can't remember the name to be honest) and did the same thing to a whole and crumbled cake. Then it seemed logical to try brown rice flower... but how to sterilize? I could boil or PC it but when it reached the air I might be risking contamination.
I got some 3% h202 and put it in a little bottle, then i put some brown rice flower in- shook it up and got something a little thick and slimey. I poured it over a whole cake and poured it over the crushed cake (not excessive, just a small coating)
After 9 days the cakes with fertilizer had done nothing... but to my surprise, both the crushed cake and the whole cake started growing bright white mycelium and starting growing shrooms all over again. No contamination what so ever. Maybe it's luck, but to be honest I wasn't the most sterlize when doing it because I was just a little bored and decided to try a few things. Perhaps the h202 kills the contaminants in the brf and when it reaches the air it still protects it.
I had the cake and crushed one in my perlite tank and then poured this mixture on them. Thought I'd share this for a few others to try and post their results.

Its called luck. Its easy to be lucky, a mold spore has to hit it. The reason why it will never be suggested is because some times, somewhere, someone will get a mold spore to hit it. Only things that can be replicated with a degree of success are worth mentioning on here..such things will fail sometimes, and not others.

Well I just moved into a new place and I can't say it's the cleanest. The room is kind of muggy and seems a bit moist at times. I'd definately say that if you have your cakes in the tank and mix this mixture then put ure washed hands in and pour it- theres a low chance of contamination... just as much as a normal cake getting contaminated.

Wow so you can do something one time and then come to conclusive results that theres a low chance of contamination, and even "just as much as a normal cake"? Interesting.
