My rant against rap

Let me start off by saying that I am a genuine fan of some rap. I have Dr. Dre's "The Chronic", Snoop Dogg's "Doggystyle", and N.W.A's "Straight Outta Compton". I love all of these albums and I listen to them on a regular basis. Not only are the grooves good, but I can also somewhat appreciate the exagerrated machismo on these albums. I find it almost comical, but in an entertaining way.

I just turned to MTV 2 and subjected myself to several rap videos. What fucking garbage the rap world is putting out nowadays! The music isn't that great (it's not bad...but it isn't memorable) and at least 1/3 of every word that the rapper says is bleeped out. I have no clue what they are rapping about when whole lines and choruses are bleeped out. Why do they even put these songs out for radio or video play if all of the words are going to be silenced?

EVERY one of these videos is some rapper talking about how much money he has. It shows him driving around in his fancy car, waving wads of cash, and slapping big-bootied chicks butts as they dance. It is so fucking vacuous and boring. I don't give a flying fuck if you drive a Mercedes or a Lamborgini. I don't give a fuck if you have diamonds and gold all over you.

Then these rappers have the audacity to talk about how "they from the hood" and "they all proud". The second they got money from rapping they moved to fucking Beverly Hills or somewhere similar and completely abandoned their neighborhoods. Do they do anything for their communities? Do they give some money back to the area that they grew up in? If you love the hood so much why the fuck did you run away from it?

These are the role models that black kids have to look up to? Men who are more concerned about how much "ice they be wearing" or what kind of sneakers they are wearing than how their own communities are doing? Maybe this is why the black community in America is in such bad shape.
