I enjoyed The DaVinci Code very much, just keep in mind that it's a fiction novel.

When I do get on reading kicks, I devour literature like they were munchie food.

I'm an English major though, reading's in my blood, heh. Well..my degree at least.

Right now I'm reading nonfiction for the first time in a long time.

whatever you do don't read "the five people you meet in heaven" i think that was the gayest, most predictable, and disillusioning book i've ever read. I'm only warming you because alot of people seem to recommend it for whatever reason.

Johny Got His Gun - by Dalton Trumbo
Back in the day this was a big anti war book and Metallica based their song "One" on this book.

The Da Vinci code is good reading in a beach blanket kinda way, IMO...a real easy read.

If you want something that will get the gears in your mind turning about something other than a Catholic conspiracy theory, I really suggest Moon Palace by Paul Auster, or Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins.

Moon palace is the catcher in the rye of our generation, and Jitterbug Perfume is about...well..everything.

Ham On Rye by Charles Bukowski. Though I don't know if it's a thinking book. It's an autobiography of his adolescent life.
