If they look like Panaeolus (bell-shaped cap, black spores) & fruit on woodchips, they are almost undoubtedly a Psathryella species--probably P. gracilis or one of the several dozen close relatives in that species "complex." I often see hundreds of specimens fruiting at a time along woodchip trails in parks. Not known to be active, poisonous, or particularly tasty.
