Too humid, or condensation falling from your terrarium lid. Of course you stop misting once pins appear, right?

yes..haven't sprayed or misted since they were cased or put in the terranium. i use perlite and there is no condensation build-up any in my terranium, on walls, lid or anything. my lid is not airtight so it is perfect.

If your useing a Rubermaid (c) type container you might not see any condensation. An aqarium usually has condensation because the is a poor insulator from the cooler air outside of the tank compared to the warmer (even dureing fruiting) air in the terarium. I agree with the member that thinks that maybe some water has come in contact with the cap of the 'shroom in question though... Usually a black cap=rotten which ordinarly comes from the fungus comeing in direct contact with water, or it just reached that point of maturity.

more than one shroom is affected. at least five of the largest ones. and as they dry (by fan) a whole replaces the black spot on the cap... wtf???
