Bottom of Casing

Assuming that you are using Verm or 50/50+ for your top casing layer what does everyone use for the bottom underneath your crumbled cakes?
Perlite, Verm, or nothing? Just curious what the majority of everyone uses I've seen so many different casing teks each doing different things. I personally use Verm... Does anyone know which one is the best and why?

If your using the 50/50+ on top, use it on the bottom as well. It works great for my buddy.

You can do it that way, but a nice 50/50+ is better on top. A moist bottom layer can be plain verm. It's much cheaper and 100% easier to spread moist verm. on the bottom.
