ethnobotanical snapshotting

wave clouds over the valley a thunderstorm is born

some hardy cati, they have been here for several years. they survive the winter and flower bigger evry summer

those cacti shots were taken at lakeland plant world in darmouth, nova scotia, canada.
while there i bought this brugmansia and replanted it

and now is among my MANY daturas, which i shall now post yet again.

dude those thundercloud shots rule. oh, what kind of cacti are those? I live in WA and it would be cool if i could grow some.

Those cacti look similar to prickly pear, but i really have no experience with them, they are just as likely to be something else. And nice pictures of the clouds, really like them.

day_tripper: I believe that there is a species of Opuntia (which is likely what mitchnast has) that is native to the San Juan Islands. Might be worth checking out! I think it's the Brittle prickly pear-- Opuntia fragilis var. fragilis

isnt Opuntia fragilis an invasive pest in austrailia?
Opuntia humifusa (the hardy prickly pear) would be my guess.
