does anyone want to back me up on this, cuz i'm not sure

I recently just overhauled my car.
i'm just starting to put it back together with new parts.
and i'm at the part where, I have just finished tightening the camshaft sprockets and aligned the timing marks from the timing belt sprocket to the mark. and now that's TDC right? is there any way I could have done this, and still not reached TDC?

Look in the number 1 spark plug hole to see that the piston is
indeed at the top of the cylinder.

that's a good idea.
by the way bloodnoil, since I have a v6, does that mean i have to position two tdc's for both sides? or will the driver's side tdc at number one be enough?
