Any Earthbound fans here?
    #4513353 - 08/09/05 04:34 AM (11 years, 8 months ago)

It was an RPG for SNES that came out around 10 years ago. I first played it when I was around 6 years old, and it's been my favorite video game since. It's not hugely popular, but it's got a decent cult following and I'm sure someone around here loves the game as well.

Anyway, the game is actually kind of trippy and has a lot of humor in it. Moonside and Magicant come to mind, two extremely abstract places in the game. Not to mention you can be "mushroomized" in battle, which causes confusion and messes with your controls on the map. If you've never played this game and are a fan of RPGs I highly suggest you check it out.

I kind of liked that game.  It was never as good as dragon warrion though

It was good, but I didn't get very far.

Chrono Trigger was the best.

Ahh man was Earthbound ever fun! I love that game. Beat it on my Dreamcast. There's an emulator that's not 100% speed, but it plays Earthbound almost perfectly.

If I ever get a mod chip for my damn ps2 I may use it to put a bunch of snes games on it. I loved snes rpgs. No other console's really hit the same plateue that it did.

Earthbound is great....

Chrono Trigger is awsome too!

I love earthbound and chrono.

I have a NES Rom that is mother 1 (aka earthbound 0). Its cool for an old rpg where you can see the enemies (I hate that).

Earthbound was kind of unique. Chrono Trigger is just another fantasy/anime/d&d mixer. So I would say CT was a better game at the time but Earthbound remains good as time goes on.

Kind of like comparing Blazing Sattles to Monte Python and the Holy Grail. Both made at the same time but the Holy Grail has stood the test of time, whereas Blazing Sattles hasn't.

The Mani Mani statue... Purple Cult... Darkside of Fourside... Mango tango fox-trot martial arts... damn that game was good. Hella polished.

I was only estimating, I wasn't sure really. I'll let it be known here that I'm over 18 years old.

Earthbound is the shit. I love that game. Pick it up on ebay or a used videogame store. Very unique, funny, and well made RPG.

On the subject of SNES RPG's. Did any of you guys every play Secret of Evermore? I was horribly addicted to that awesome game for a few months.

Cool stuff...

Earthbound came out in 1993, man that game was freaking SWEET! does anyone remember how it was rediculously expensive? I think I paid $100+taxes Canadian for it. The music, story line and characters were so interesting. probably my favourite rpg ever! if only the sequel came out...:(

Yep ... beat that game twice.
Secret of Mana is better imo. Evermore is the sequel.

Dragon Warrior - owned
Earthbound - fucken awesome
Illusion of Gaia - rocked
Zelda - the ultimate

I still have my original NES from 1986, and a gold zelda cartridge. Still works.
