50/50 [verm/peat] casing question...[EDIT w/PICS]
    #4511938 - 08/08/05 10:50 PM (11 years, 11 months ago)

I'm using the 50/50 method, but I pasteurized the mix in a pot of water for an hour.  The tek said to put it in a pillow case and put that in the water... so I have a few ?s.

-how long should I wait for this to cool before making the case?

-since it was in the pillow case in the water, it's picked up some extra water --- is that ok?

I'll be back w/pics tomorrow --- doing 2 cases, I have one cake in the terrarium almost fully grown over w/fluffy myc  and then 4 more cakes in the incubator [I can see faint blue in them though *crosses fingers*, hopefully it's bruising.

Decided to case to get more for my money [plus my dear old lady threw out a syringe and a half that was in the fridge by accident...........]

Thanks guys.

well you will need to squeeze out some of the water after pasturizing. otherwise it may be way too wet and smother your myc.
drain it until you can squeeze out a few drops from it and it should be good.
you should wait until it is at room temp to apply.

damn bro sucks the old lady tossed em out, sure that won't happen again.

peace

1/2 pint BRF cakes cased in a 50/50 verm/peat mixture [w/garden lime & oyster shell added to adjust pH levels].

Terrarium is a perlite humidifier w/a heating pad underneath for warmth.

Picking up a thermometer today.

BTW - this is my first grow.
