A Nice Morning Hunt
    #4494217 - 08/04/05 08:56 AM (18 years, 7 months ago)

It has been so hot this summer.. The only mushrooms are the ones dependent on the water I supply them!

A nice thing to wake up to in the morning!

haha what lysergic means is yessup brought a colonized pie home from the fields and planted it in his planter and watered it. This works alot more than people would think, and its alot less risky than having some farmer or even worse the dreaded PO finding you. There been many threads on here about people doing it, and it does work most of the time.

No, you shouldn't because you should be mentally stable to trip.

stupid questions from the newb:

someone said he brought a "colonized" patty home. was there one already sprouting that made you choose that patty...or did you get one at random with the hope that it would produce?

if it was random, then approx what's the odds of getting a producer?

if it was random, how fresh or old should the patty be?

this sounds safer than walking back to my truck with the mushrooms in hand...i did a little cowfield searching today with no luck...and was nervous about what to say if caught. fresh manure in hand[for my garden officer..;)], gives me an easy out.

OK first off you don't want to pull Patty's from your pasture due the the reduction of Cubes...
If you leave a patty where is lays and don't touch it ,It should produce for a few flush's..

I have a friend who runs cows south of me down by Matagordia.
I asked him a few months ago to bring me some Patty's to throw in the garden as fertilizer.. I was also interested in trying to grow cubes at the same time.. Out doors...
OK so one day my buddy Rob shows up with 25+ Patty's and throws them in a pile on the side of my house.. I tossed them everywhere.. I threw some under trees.. I buried some under my roses and the few I had that I saw a lil white on I stuck in pots full of dirt and started watering them... I got lots of mushrooms! But most were small and of a strain I don't remember.. Non active and such!
This summer has been hell and we have had almost no rain.. The month of June here was the first on record with no rain.. I looked at my field's every weekend .. With he lack of rain and all the heat I figured I would try and ID a couple dry Patty's and bring them home for the same reason.. Out of the 25+ Patty's and the 3 or so I packed in my back pack I have ended up with about 5 that actually grew cubes.. I do not think its a substitute way to grow mushrooms. I do not recommend taking the Patty's from your local fields.you can deplete the natural process of the cubes and decrees your chances of finding them at a later date..
I did this for a few reasons. I wanted to watch the start to finish of a Cubensis on a turd and I wanted to photograph this as it happens.. I now have this on film and it has helped allot of folks in the process..
Like I said.. Yes I did take a couple Patty's from the pasture.. I'm lucky I have a pasture with an ASS LOAD of cubes.. I thought long and hard about this and it was not just a stuff the patty and run kind of thing!
Its a need to know and need to watch kind of process... I also don't recommend bringing them home due to the amount of bugs I ended up with.. Mother Nature is a wild one!
OK I hope I have answered your questions and also ma by changed your mind about pullin Patty's!

Yessup

Unless Your Field Is Tiny And You Only Got Like 2 Cowz In It...........You Are Not Hurting Anything By Only Removing 20-30 Patties...Hell My Field Has Got Like 50 Cowz.....So Thats Like 50 Shits An Hour And Millions Upon Millions Of Spores Being Chewed Up And Shit Out..........

Sorry folks I just didn't feel like getting my ass chewed out!
So I felt like I needed to splane myself to the fullest!
I had some dude PM me and tear me a new ass about pulling Patty's! So I figured that allot of folks frowned upon someone that has done what I have!

Oh well thanks for the reassurance!
I woke up this morning and found this wonderful flush happening!-

Like I said Thanks for all the support and kind words!

I bring home :poop: regular, as much as I can carry. The stuff's great for all kinds of things. Like you said, my roses love it. It can also be heated between 140 and 180 D. F and used for other things :whistling:
But like you said, the real problem comes in at the pile; I'm talkin milipedes by the tons  and they chew on whatever grows there. But man I'd like to get rid of them things, nasty.

:shitstorm:
