cool mist humidity question

hi.. i just started to make a terarium setup... i am using two big rubbermaid containers and a cool mist humidifer.. i have two questions... first... on the rubbermaid container, where would be the ideal spot to connect the hose from the humidifer? higher or lower on the container??... second... do the rubbermaid containers need any vent holes??? thanx a lot

pipe the coolmist in high so the mist has a better chance to mix with all the air in the rubbermaid no vent is needed rubbermaids are not airtight and the positive pressure from the coolmist will provide some protection from contams

I, myself, would recommend a couple vent holes stuffed with polyfil or something around the level of your casing surfaces. CO2 is heavier then oxygen and will gather at the bottom of your chamber. It will be easier for the CO2 to be pushed out the bottom by the oxygen entering at the top.
