A few questions
    #4509320 - 08/08/05 03:03 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Well I was looking through the fAQ's and stuff oculdn't get my answers

First question

Is a fruiting chamber the same thign as a terrarium?

What if i don't have anything to measure temperate with and humidity? I knwo temperature should be room temperature becuase when i do grow it will be in my house....but how can i control humidity if i cant measure it?

Also what can I use to control the humidty of that pop bottle terrarium to make sure its where it should be...im pretty sure a spray bottle won't work

The problem is im on a small budget and what i am suing needs to be small to keep it hidden and otu fo the way from my parents so i need ato keep everythign chepa and small..im sitll reading through sites and stuff and learnign as much as i can but i have these few questins i couldnt find answers to

pretty much , im not shore about the diff but they serve the same purpose.humidity 90-95% is wonderfull , or 75-85deg F is optimal for mushies.spray bottle will work make shore you spray 30cm from fruit body.a plastic box with you casing in it will serve the same purpose as a expensive rig .

if you are using perlite and growing pf cakes...you won't need a humidity gauge.
the perlite soaked in water...and misting the sides of the fruiting chamber will give you high enough humidity.

Perlite will.

this set up will work better than the pop bottle...

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm growing in my parent's home as well, but my dad and I are cool with certain things (puff puff *cough* *cough*) and he's done some things in his day. Plus I pay rent so I have SOME say in what I do but I still keep it discreet so I don't bring any trouble over.

As for the temp, they should be ok for now. My room stays a miraculous 83? so it's not much of a problem for me. If you're looking for a cheap and good therm., try K-Mart. I went to the hardware/car section and found a little one that has an extra sensor I can put inside the fruiting chamber and read the temp in there, as well as the room. It was only $10.

Good luck!
