Retarded shrooms and Stressing Shrooms
    #4508708 - 08/08/05 12:20 AM (11 years, 4 months ago)

Ok, so I'm in the final stages of my first attempt at cultivation. I didn't wanna invest too much $$ initally....b/c I didn't have too much money....and I used drinking classes instead of widemouth jars. I had a bunch of 3/4 pint glasses that have matured into some beautiful cakes....and I used one 1 pint beer glass as well.....man it looks funny as a cake....But as you experienced ones might know, is that beer glass took a while to fully colonize, and before the bottom was completely done, I had shrooms growing inside the glass! Eeek! What to do? I figured I'd be safe to birth it, and cover the top with some verm to keep the baddies away. It's worked so far, but the shrooms that were growing inside the cup seem to have attached their heads to the cake, so it's growing a loop! In other words, both ends of the shroom are latched onto the cake. Should I help it detatch itself? Does it matter? Would it harm or help it either way? I feel that I should leave it be but it is taking up valuable real estate....

harvest them off of the cake and then let it fruit.
have you exposed your glasses to light? or maybe for some other strange reason they started to pin invitro.
peace

Often this means that there might be a contaminant at the bottom of the substrate or the bottom has gone dry or needs air. I wouldnt worry - birth, cut off un colonised and fruit.
Cubies will only fruit once they have fully colonised a substrate
