ID HELP: for North Florida Panhandle Mushrooms.
    #4504005 - 08/06/05 02:16 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

Can anyone help me out with these mushrooms. Keep or throw away?

They were found in grass. Extremely moist soils - with grass mulch as base. Gille
The gills appear to go right up to the stem without actually attaching. They are Lighter than the mushroom head.
The stem is very firm, yet when pressed appears to be hollow as it gives a little. The cap of the younger ones is definately purple and rounded. The older caps loss the pruple color and appear a lighter purple or very very light brown. I am still waiting to see what color they bruise. Not sure how to get a spore color read as I am very new at this. Hope the pics help. - - -Again, thanks for any possible leads.
Paul

They are not cubes , I can tell you that much. The white gills are a dead give away , cubes have dark purpleish gills.

The cubes found down here in Tampa have an orange cap , dark gills , and ovecourse bruise blue. I'd say toss them , any one else concur?
