slow colonizing casing.
    #4500755 - 08/05/05 04:20 PM (18 years, 8 months ago)

did this like... 1.5 weeks ago. its sterilized horse manure compost with cut up straw in it.

i spawned it with 1 quart of cambodian oyster mushroom mycelium...

i mean.. its colonizing, but real slow. should i maybe just throw a casing layer on the biatch?

It looks really wet in there.
Which is probably why it's colonizing so slowly.  1.5 weeks is a long time for a sterilized substrate to be sitting around, I'm kinda surprised it's lasted to so long.  If I were you I'd throw on a casing layer, more to protect it than anything and make the casing layer a bit on the dry side.  It will pick up excess moisture from the substrate.

"sterilized?" you didnt sterlize your poo did you? if so, theres your problem. It also looks too wet. You should have to squeeze the poo very hard to get 2 or 3 drops out of it...

Happy Trails and GL to ya.

Doing well.  It'll be great as soon as I get a job.
Sounds like you got it under control then.  Good luck, tell us how the oysters respond to it.

Peace
