    #4496226 - 08/04/05 06:15 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

is it necessary to have air flowing through a glovebox? Replies to my last question had pictures of a glovebox(a damn nice one at that)with a built in fan, is that something that has to be done? peace

Nope, it's not required. A still-air glovebox works wonders, so keep it simple if you can. No fans/filters to screw with this way. Load your materials, let the air settle for 10 minutes, and then go to work with clean gloves and wipe all work surfaces with alcohol. A professional flowhood is the next best thing to this setup IMO.

 when working with agar and trying to isolate clean mycelium, air movement is the last thing you want.
