Fuzzy wuzzy are my cakes!! WHY?
    #449626 - 11/07/01 12:05 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

Here i have discovered a discrepency in two of the teks. 3 days ago I put my fully colonized PFTek cakes in the terrarium with about .75"-1" of perlite with about .5" of water to get the humidity up. The temp is hovering around 78F. In the PF method, it says that if the cakes get the white fuzz then the humidity is too low, however, in the MMGG, it says the white fuzzy growth on the mycelium is due to too much humidity. Any experienced growers know which is the cause? Thanks for the help. -d

The fuzz doesnt make a huge difference. Just keap humidity at around 96% and you'll be fine.

Yes, there is much fuzz over all the cakes. It is not contamination, it is healthy white shroom fuzz, i got a hygrometer today that says the humidity is about 88% and the temp is 73F. thanks
