My cat..
    #4496057 - 08/04/05 07:09 PM (12 years, 6 months ago)

I have 2 cats (mother and son) that basically live out-doors for the most part and in the cellar during the day and during the winter. One day I was outside playing, I must have been around eight years old at the time, and I noticed a cat watching me in the bushes/trees in my backyard. The minute I saw her she came walking towards me but not too close. I tried to pet her and she ran off. That night we had fish and she came scratching on the back-door. We took her in that night.

Was always really close to my cat. Considered her guardian of sorts.. She was a damn good cat. She's been missing for a few months now. Today I finally came to terms that she is 13 years old and has probably passed away. The last time I seen her was in May (the 20th to be exact).

I honestly believed she tried to tell me it was her time to go. It was the day I dosed up on L and got on the boards here having a bad trip. Right before I came downstairs I opened my bedroom window and looked outside. There she was sitting in the yard and locked eyes with me as soon as I opened the window. She sat there for a minute staring directly into my eyes before standing up and walking across the street without looking back. I remember feeling very sad but at the same time very understanding. I'm very big on symbolism and when I found her she came to me walking from the east. That day she left walking into the west. I understood that during my trip. When I came down I just passed it off as I was tripping. Now 3 months later I've finally come to terms that she is gone. It's really fucking with my head.

You sound like you connect with animals. I'm sorry your cat left you! That is real cool that you take it very well in understanding.

Wow, that's intense. That sounds like a really crazy moment to have during a trip..I'm sorry you miss your cat.

I loved my cat so much..she was with me for 16 of my 18 years at the point when she died, they got her when Iw as just a few months old and she died when I was 16 and a half. It's weird, but when I'm home I still imagine her walking around, see her out of the corner of my eye.

Just think back on that feeling of understand you had.

Acid doesn't give you truths; it builds machines that push the envelope of perception. Whatever revelations came to me then have dissolved like skywriting. All I really know is that those few years saddled me with a faith in the redemptive potential of the imagination which, however flat, stale and unprofitable the world seems to me now, I cannot for the life of me shake.
