Sweet tooth
    #4493885 - 08/04/05 05:57 AM (11 years, 10 months ago)

About 3 years ago, i lost my sweeth tooth, havn't been much of a candy/sweets person, didnt even drink too much soda.

Now recently, in the last 3 weeks, I find myself eating more and more candy, and craving it alot more. I know its not realy in my nature, so i was wondering if there could be something causing this? I cannot think of any kind of mental stress, or changes ive been through, so maybe physical? Do i need to get blood work done to check for diabetes? I dont like random changes like this!

Thanks

If the sweet tooth is a compulsion to consume foods high in sugar, I'd get blood work done especially if you have a family history. A friend I went to high school with had diabetes set on her freshman year of college, and she was only 18. Perfect shape, wonderful health, straight edge (no drugs OR booze). -- and a wicked hot cheerleader

Genetics suck, so cover your ass.

I second that... definitely sounds like a good reason to get some bloodwork done.

Has your overall diet changed recently?

I have stopped eating meat recently.

I dont have any history of diabetes with parents/aunts/ucles/cousins/gransparents.

Im not sure if it was one day me eating something sweet, and relizing what I was missing, or if its a craving soming from elsewhere. I am waiting on some blood work they did a couple days ago for something else(stomache virus) do you think it would come up in that? Or do they specifically have to look for it?

You could just get some home test kits and prick your own finger and test your blood sugar throughout the day.
