Your way of dying.
    #4490897 - 08/03/05 05:00 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

If you had the choice of dying quickly and painlessly and suddenly, would you choose that over dying over some months, in some discomfort/pain (emotional or physical), but having time to reflect on the fact that your life was comming to an end? Why? :mushroom2:

An arctic swim is the preferred way to go. With a name like "Icelander", you should know this.

i dont like to think about death
but i'd rather have time to think about it, get my affairs in order, prepare
many of my actions are based on the assumption i'm going to be living many years from now

--YOUNG MAN BURIES HIMSELF ALIVE--

"...suicide letter was found next to slighly decayed body, inside the homemade coffin"

The family of the man, yet to be identified, is baffled as to what would cause him to take this extreme. Prior to the incident, which, based upon the decay, probably happened two weeks ago, the man had shown no signs of depression or suicidal tendencies.

"I never knew he wanted to end his life," his sobing mother told reporters, "and especially not by buring himself alive in a box."

Regional police say this is definitely the first case of a suicide burial they've come across, and no such incident could be found elsewhere in the world. Upon digging up the coffin, made entirely out of old orange crates, the police knew that this was indeed a suicide and not a homicide. They reported that a suicide letter was found next to the slighly decayed body, inside the homemade coffin. Details of the letter are not being released, besides to close relatives of the man.

"The strangest thing, that all us guys can't seem to figure out, is how he managed to fill in the hole with soil after locking himself inside the buried coffin." One officer chuckled.

Jumping out of a plane without parachute would be kinda fun--much more fun than slowly dying over a month or so. Besides, I feel that I will have plenty of time to reflect on my life and death during those moments right after I die. I can only speculate that experiencing death leads to extreme time dilation.

I'd take the middle route: painful, gruesome and quick. Like falling into spinning industrial machinery or something.

I also admire that guy who blew his brains out after losing a round of Blackjack. What a prankster!

Quick, and at the exact moment of my choosing....if I HAVE TO die. Maybe I could push a button that would cause an artificially induced hemorrhage. Maybe I would choose a time and place to do it that would make it a really funny joke. Maybe I would start a fight with someone and as soon as the other guy threw the first punch I would press the button which would be conceled in my hand. I don't like physical pain very much and a slow illness would be tedious.

Quick, for the simple reason that I've already had plenty of time to contemplate my mortality.
