MAYPORT, FL -- A Mayport-based ship turned over 14 tons of cocaine seized in the Caribbean to drug enforcement officers in Florida.
The USS Robert G. Bradley brought the drugs into Key West Friday. It had just returned from a counterdrug mission in the Eastern Pacific, where it had been deployed since April. Investigators believe the drugs were headed for distribution in the U.S.
The ship, along with other Coast Guard crews, patrolled an enormous area equal to the size of the continental United States
