And they will take a yard.
In my case, it's deer and they are eating my yard.
I had hoped we could peacefully coexist. The hoof prints dug into the yard in front of the fresh pile of dung next to the previously lush beefsteak tomato plant clipped clean by the same deer has proven otherwise. It's on now. 
Ever feel this way with people? They eat all your food, drink your beer, leave a mess in your house and maybe even not flush? Or they use you in other ways. Do you let them? Should you?

I was thinking more of a BB gun scaring off. Although some venison on the grill sounds nice, I think we previously addressed the possible illegality of shooting deer out of season in town.

Just stick those high end speakers out there and put on some nine inch nails. that should do it. Don't worry about the neighbors, you can deal with them after the deer are gone.

You're lucky you have the option of eating them.
I have a friend in the middle Florida Keys (Islamorada) where an endangered species of deer indiginous only to the Keys live. The deer raom free eating everything in sight, and no one can touch them.

damn deer will eat anything too. a friend of mine got her garden/flowers mowed down by some a couple years ago. so she thought she would fix them damn deer, she put some plastic flowers out there and god damn if the dear didn't eat them too. ain't no shit, ate it all except the wire stems.
try using some wolf or coyote piss lightly sprayed around the areas you would like to keep them away from. next best thing is a redneck and a shotgun.

no. everytime one of my friends (actually, I should say fellow denizen of this shithole we call 'reality', because I don't have any real friends) tries to mooch off me I loudly accuse them of being a crackhead leech, then I whack them in the nose with a rolled up newspaper in front of everyone.

The American Indians in this area apparently have the right to shoot anything anytime anywhere on private property (with the property owner's permission) if it is eating your food. Fortunately, I have an American Indian who brings me fish that I showed the damage to my garden caused by the deer. He will probably be coming back in a few days with his gun.
I am looking forward to some venison steaks...

Are you sure? My Indian was getting angry because I would only feed him dry food. I told the vet he had this temper. Next thing I know the vet gave "How" a shot for Distemper! Funny how we miscommunicate, isn't it?
