100 % Contamination After 4 Attempts

I have tried oven inoculation, I have turned my bathroom into a clean room via instructions from a posting, and I have made two attempts at thoroughly cleaning my kitchen and inoculating. All have failed resulting in blue mold. Each time I have followed the teks. I use facemasks, Lysol, 91% alcohol, 10% bleach solution, gloves, and a lighter. Nothing seems to matter. Can anyone help me?

you using a pressure cooker? and is your syringe or print contaminated?

Sounds like you're in the same boat as I am, where did you buy the syringe from, and was it B+?

Four times in a row blue mold fucked me up..

Assuming your syringes are clean, as well as the jar & content you are inoculating :rolleyes: :confused:.

It is SIMPLE to INOCULATE cleanly, if you can follow instructions?

Simply use a sterile gauze pad ( medical type @ any drug store by the box for cheap).

Drip some 70% alc on it - until fairly saturated.

Uncap the needle off the syringe & WRAP the saturated pad around it.

Hold the pad in place with 2 fingers.

Place the base of the pad against the hole in the jar lid (which sanitizes the hole & area around it), then push the needle downward - through the pad, into the jar & inject - while still holding the pad in place over the hole.

After completing the injection, withdraw the needle, BACK UP INTO THE ALC saturated PAD.

Set syringe aside.      Tape over the hole.

Proceed to next jar & repeat.

This simple procedure does not allow the needle to come into contact with open air that carries contaminates.

I am using steam sterilization. I have used prints to make syringes 3 out of the 4 times. The other time I ordered a syringe from a vendor.

The syringes are sterile and so are the jars. I will try using that technique to inoculate. Thanks.

I haved use B+, Argentina, & Texan strains.

Do you have a temp/humidity gauge for your incubator? Buy one at a petstore or garden shop if you don't. Keep the humidity down and make sure the temps are around 84F. Also invest in a PC.

Leave one of your jars uninnocuolated next time. Put it in the same incubator. This will rule out poor sterilization. You are only steaming BRF right? You can't steam grains in a single session.

where did you get the spores

ive had bascially the same problem with 3 different batches while following sterile procedures

and I did leave one jar un inoc'd and it was fine
