President Bush will not allow government funding for stem cell research because he fells that it is analogous to murder or is murder, yet he spent/is spending over three hundred billion tax dollars on a war?
Is that right?

That's called logic. Don't expect anything the US gov. does to be based on that at all.

No.
War is an acceptable action of a country. Allowing the murder of its citizens is not.
I can't believe I gave you a real answer. Did you get that idea from a lesbo's poster at a feminist rally? Impressive thoughts.

no, its because he wants the religious institutions vote,(which doesnt make sense now that hes in his second term) he doesnt give a shit about the babies, he just wants a (relatively) good public opinion, if you were to ignore the whole war thing i mean
in all honesty, the stem cell research issue is the one thing that started my hatred for our government... i just dont understand it
and its not murder, i know its a baby, but in all honesty people are animals, these nuts need to accept that and let an unborn person take the blow for a thousand others who need the research done to save their lives, it doesnt make sense to me... and from what i understand now, they are mainly using the stem cells from the umbilical chord, or a very imature fetus (like a couple days) which i dont even see as a person.. more of a bacteria.. ugh

Or that he thinks an embryo is a human being and deserves rights. But you summed it up real good at the end.

Could it get any clearer, or better yet, more realistic? Have you been in reality lately?

the human species is overpopulated as it is, war, disease, etc. is a natural cycle which has been going on since our inception. sorry if that sounds heartless but we're focusing on diseases when we can't even win the war on hunger and balance economy throughout the world.

We can't win the war on hunger because the rich fat cats don't give a fuck. And a balanced economy in the US eyes is one where we are on the top.

The US spends more money on Stem Cell research than every other country in the world combined. I would think that in comparing it to the War on Terror, you liberals would be crying about "going it alone" in respect to stem cell research.
Why should US taxpayers shoulder the burden for Stem Cell research? Shouldn't you guys be consistent? Where are the French and the Germans and the Russians? We have 40+ nations involved in the War on Terror, how many nations have come together to fund our effort in stem cell research?
Under George Bush, the United States of America has spent more money on stem cell research than any other president. Under George Bush, America has spent more money on stem cell research than the rest of the world combined.
America has no law against stem cell research. You are free to do all the stem cell research that you want. The market for stem cell related products is projected to be in between 3-4 billion by 2015, and if successful it could grow exponentially. The US government invests in stem cell research, state governments participate in S-C research, private foundations and trusts give grants for it, prominent Universities actively participate in S-C research. And nobody that I have found can document the private sector, which will eventually be the engine when profit is involved.
If you want to redo your plumbing, rewire your house, or add an addition, you will need a permit from the government. You can do stem cell research tomorrow for free. Nobody is about to stop you.
It amazes me that so many people confuse the right to do research with the right to have the research that they want to do, and have that research funded by Joe Sixpack, the American Taxpayer.
If you want, you can give your own hard earned money to the charities and trusts that support stem cell research, or to the various non profit institutions and universities that perform the research. You will even be able to write that money off on your taxes.

how will those charities and trusts procure stem cells when their cultivation is outlawed and existing lines locked up?
