Cool Mist Humidifier & Ultrasonic Humidifier

Do i have this correct?
cool mist=is for air exchange and can and should be left on all day?Or would leaving it on all day rise the humidtiy to high for casing
Ultrasonic Humidifier=is to rise the humidity to the levels need then turned off?

from what I've seen that sounds right..wish someone would have answered that question as i need it answered as well! I'm looking at an industrial ultrasonic humidifier and found a good deal and was about to go buy it but had read a few things advising against ultrasonic as it can build bacteria and spread it..but I'm not sure if that is valid..my greenhouse will be 20ftx70ft aka my grow room space.

Yes basicallythat's right. Howeverthe coolmist is a humidifier also, so you don't need both. Unless you are using only the fan past of the cool mist.

I've used both, started with an ultrasonic thinking I'll never have to worry about low humidity. That's true, but it created way too much moisture, way too much. I used cool mist in a fairly large "mini-greenhouse" and had it on a timer to run 15min out of every hour IIRC, and this was great for keeping humidity where it needed to be. Probably could've had it on for less time. And the way I had it situated, the cool mist also took care of cycling the air, however you must set it up this way. If you just throw it in a closed space, it will only recycle stale air.


The way to choose is based on your needs, though. Look at the size of room a particular unit is rated for, but keep in mid that those ratings are not based on 90%+ humidity. For smaller areas I recommend cool mist. For larger areas, well if you are actually using that much space to grow mushrooms, you shouldn't need my advice. I would suggest only using the area you need and keep it separated somehow, for many reasons.

I ran a cm 24hrs with a turned down us, the kind that has the control knob. Its hard to find the sweet spot but it worked well. I left one side unzipped too at first but found i didnt have to. Prob running wih full shelves youd want more fresh air to get in.
