"In my original vision, I saw one Madonna holding the Christ child and another Madonna holding the deposed Christ, each like a mirror-reflection of the other. The first expressed extreme joy at the birth of Christ; the other, extreme suffering at the event of his death. (Both of the figures in my painting are derived from Van der Weyden's Miraflores altarpiece). Superimposed over this entire arrangement was the transparent face of Kali, so that the heads of the Madonnas appeared within her closed eyes. The Hindu Goddess Kali accepts joy and suffering equally. To her, birth and death are one. "

I find more meaning in the layering of flux and process than in the particular contents of these visionary mindscreens. of the above I like the innocence of the work from http://www.pabloamaringo.com/ - most raw and delicious - least pedantic.
alex grey's stuff rocks - a great set of visionary premises there, lots of familiar aspects.

I like the drawing you posted in the middle with the path up the middle. Nice composition and use of color. Makes you want to step into it.

Check out this link. I have an icon on my desktop for it. You type in a word or two like Marilyn Monroe, or Psilocybin Mushrooms for that matter, and all these images appear as a collage which then form into a moving kaleidoscope of your making!

spirals that echo in ears tibetan/chinese fire vines that interlace around spirals to weave a membrane eye like linkages at the vine intersections. conscious form that emerges from the aggregate membrane to face itself this is an intense level 4 for me. love it. what is it called?
