Does it matter what form the ginger is? (Powder, Sliced?)

I don't think it should. I've used powdered. Of course, as with all things, YMMV.

According to traditional chinese medicine, taking fresh or as a second choice, powdered for stomach ailments works wonders.

If you were planning to make tea with your shrooms, you could slice up a .5 to 1 inch cube of fresh ginger and add it to the water when you make your tea. You could also use some dried ginger instead. Be aware however, that while you may ease your overall stomach discomfort and alleviate gas, things may suddenly wish to take the fast route down out of dodge, if you catch my drift (speaking from experience.)

My 2 cents.
