Well, I feel very fortunate. I was skeptical at first about the colinization speed it seemed I was getting because the spots did look somewhat grey but the next day or two I check again and they were all pure white mycillium baby. Haven't gotten a whole lot of outward growth the last few days probably due to the temperature drop they've had but the mycillium has thicked up quite a bit.

Hey Captain Max! This is Newbie Shroomer :) Awwww, Man, you don't hafta send me a new syringe, I appreciate it tho! :) I have literally a ton of spore supplies after the anthrax scare, I sent out to many vendors... Thank you though! I followed the sterility teks to the letter, but my pc is a piece of crap... A shot glass you say!?? I never thought of that! But yea, checked this morning and was dumbfounded.... I have lost now 7 of 12 jars to green/gray mold, and the remaining five are steadily turning a darker gray!! LOL! Grenade does his work in an unsterilized bathroom over an ( LOL ) toilet, and he is doing fine!!! The inhumanity of it all! Thank you Captain Max for your support! :) Take Care Captain Max!

anno, i used your method for my last batch of jars. they seem to be growing quite nicely. all showed growth aftert only 2 days and now after 5 they are getting going, and every jar has multiple germination sites and some are starting to grow pretty quickly. however, what (approximately, for larger grade verm) is the field capacity for 2/3 cup of vermiculite. i just used the MMGG specs of 2/3 C verm, then i mixed in the 1/4 cup water first. this left little drops on the bottom of the bowl and if i tilted it and pressed a tiny bit on the verm, i got a puddle, but no puddle (just drops) if i didn't press at all. then i added 1/4 cup brf. am i going to dry out like a b***h as my jars try to go for 100%?

Ya, the shot glass helps but maybe you should try the Open Toilet tek! If you ever need anything, just holler, I owe ya one! Anno, I saw the shot glass menitoned on the web somewhere, it works better then no shot glass!

when you mix the verm and water and you get the puddle, do you dump out the puddle or do you leave the water in there?

Depends on how big the puddle is. If it?s bigger than a spoonfull, then reduce it.
