Jane's Addiction? Dude, they were only together for like two years in the whole freaking 90's..Dave Nevarro went to RedHCPeppers and Perry Farell started Porno For Pyros, not to mention coordinating that whole Lalapalooza thing-a-ma-jig....
Farell 'acts' like a 'meathead'? You don't really know much about him, do you?

To back up your point: The Ramones only knew 3 chords through their entire careers(literally) and I don't think anyone would consider uttering Ramones and sell-outs in the same breath...

"don't think that is the right word for a band that has changed their music completely to go with the times... "
if they change it to sell more records then why not, itd the perfect word to use. I know the diff b\w evolving as a artist and selling out,

ahhaha - I love the term three cord bands all those bands dude mentioned play many more than three cords.to go depper into this dude if u new shit listen to a good musician (bb, dimes, mustaine, tools drummer) it really aint what your playing, but how u play it. I mean creatively what u make is of course important but in the end u lose what u were looking for in the begginig if u focus completely on the cords and notes arghhh that realy didnt make since but oh well.
as far selling out other dude had it right it simply means changing what u want( ur own uncorrupted music) for some one else for any reason. the music industry is based on selling out that is what uasally creates rock stars. go underground for a lot less uncorupted muzak, of course alot of them would sell out in asecond for fame;) If your label lets u create exactly what u want then u have not sold out
I am actually considering pursueing my bands future without a record label via-internet(nice website linked to every place I can)street teams, constant touring, purchasing studio(or renting) equitement and cd producing equitement.
I dont mean record labels are bad ( they fit rigt in to our current music industry, and our out to help most bands..kinda..) its just not the way I want to go

lol "dude" if you could make millions to "sell out" you would
" don't you fuckin lie"
i agree with that three cord shit...the who was three cords
along with thin lizzy.. both excellent bands
people use three cords as an excuse
just like when they say floyd sucks because roger waters is a terrible bass player.. he is a shitty bass player but there is a lot more to it then the bass.. he was a lyricaly conceptual genius and whatever he lacked in gilmour made up for

Waters shitty?
I disagree.
I would never take millions of dollars for my music either. Money means shit to me.
I would head out on the road and play it to people who wanted to hear it live.

yeah yeah yeah..
you don't think most say that...
afterall money's what makes the world go around
Waters is not the most talented bass player... compared to others he is shitty.. I am a roger waters fan.. i don't think he is shitty i just think his better attributes to floyd were not really the bass

Again I disagree, but I can not do anything to prove you wrong so believe what you will.

I don't think like you at all, I try not to compare people to others to form an opinion, I think he worked great in Pink Floyd, just my opinion, but I agree with one thing though his other attributes were much better than his bass playing.

> if you could make millions to "sell out" you would
Fuck that! I despise losers who sell themselves for fame. I would never sell my music for fame and fortune! To hell with that!
Hell, I don't even like recordings. It's live or nothing! I would love to be a signed artist one day. Not for fame. Not for fortune, but for the opportunity to stand in front of thousands of people and fuel their energy while taking them on an emotional ride through your mind. There?s just something about that...
I would sooner loose everything, then to sell myself for something I don't represent. That's just me.

You dont expect much from music and thats fine i personally was expecting something better and i cant be bothered arguing again about this, you like ticks and leechs and it does something for you, i get it at least as much as you but i dont like it its not great art
if i like something different to you im confused? because that to me makes me think your confused
people who follow tool are just the same as people who follow n-sync the fanatics are as defensive of there group in both bands there is similarities between die-hard tool fans and die-hard n-sync bands kids will always be dumb
p.s now dont get nasty now

"people who follow tool are just the same as people who follow n-sync the fanatics are as defensive of there group in both bands there is similarities between die-hard tool fans and die-hard n-sync bands kids will always be dumb"
there are a lot of dumb ass tool fans so i agree with you there however i dont agree that a tool fan is the same as an nsync fan just for the fact that nsync is crap and has absolutely no artistic value..nsync is all about making a hit single to make a dollar..yes im sure tool wants to make a little money to but they dont try to make every track a hit single that will hit the radios..they actually make there songs 7-9 minutes long purposely so the radio wont play them.
as far as ticks and leeches..i really dont care for the music in this song too much except for after it stops gets slow and comes back in heavy..i think that part of the song is great..but the greatest part of the song is what the lyrics are saying..ive already seen someone here hit it right on the head..its about people like you missulena"hope this is what you wanted cause this is what youre getting" and you thought they were gonna come out with another aenima didnt you?"i hope you choke on this" he's talkin to you again lol

By far the biggest sell-out of all time history is Aerosmith. When I saw them perform at half time of the Superbowl with Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, I vowed to hate them for life -- and boy do I.
